Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Vice President for Academic Affairs, while
welcoming Dr. Ahmad stated the vision of AIT is to be “the University
of Asia” during the next 10 years. The institute has very strong
linkages all over the region, particularly with Pakistan, and it would
like to further build on these linkages. “AIT stresses on
internationality with an Asian orientation,” Prof. Dutta remarked while
adding that the signing of the new AIT Charter is a landmark step which
would help strengthen AIT’s global network of partners.
Apart from Prof. Dutta, Dr. Ahmad had discussions with Dr. Jonathan
Shaw, Director, AIT Extension; Dr.Weerakorn Ongsakul, Dean, School of
Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); Dr. Naveed Anwar,
Executive Director, AIT Consulting; Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha, Head,
External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); Dr. Faiz Shah,
Head, Development Management, AIT Extension; Vickrant Gurung, Program
Associate, School of Management (SOM); and Ms. Sumana Shrestha, Program
Officer, ERCO. Dr. Ahmad also visited the AIT Consulting Office, AIT
Extension and the School of Management (SOM).
