AIT Bet Won World Bank Competition Special Award

The project proposal entitled 'Volcanic Stones (Pumice) Marketing' of the Regional and Rural Development Planning of SERD won the prestigious 'People's Choice Award' during the Development Marketplace Competition organized by World Bank last December 2-4, 2003 in Washington DC, USA.

The project talks about a livelihood approach to the empowerment and socio-economic alleviation of the Indigenous People of Central Luzon, Philippines without further degrading the fragile environment of Mount Pinatubo.

The 'People's Choice Award' is voted upon by everyone participating in the event (visitors, guests, World Bank staff, and fellow participants) without restrictions.
