Two years after he was appointed President of the Asian Institute of
Technology (AIT), Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai presented his midterm
report to the AIT Board of Trustees on 14 July 2016.
The narrative report traces developments ever since Prof. Worsak was
appointed the Institute’s eighth president on 17 July 2014, which made
him the first AIT alumnus, the first Asian and the first Thai national
to assume this position. In the report, the AIT President highlights
the achievements during the past two years, and lays out his vision for
the next two.
“AIT should position itself as a global research institute for
mankind,” Prof. Worsak says, adding that this way AIT will be providing
a rare opportunity for its international students to emerge as “global
citizens.” AIT must continue to offer itself a neutral platform for
international scholars to share their experiences and learn from each
other in the interest of the region and the entire world, he
adds.
