Vietnamese ring in new year with a bang
The Vietnamese community of AIT came together Saturday, 28 January 2006 , to celebrate the Vietnamese New Year. More than 200 students, faculty and staff of various nationalities joined to welcome the lunar new year with food, drinks, karaoke, dancing and fireworks.
- As the countdown to the new year reaches one second, the celebration has already begun.
Leading up to the midnight celebration, karaoke singers marked the occasion with Vietnamese music.
- Vietnamese students dressed in traditional ao dais welcome the opportunity to ring in the new year with guests of all nationalities.
The venue for lighting firecrackers changed to the cricket field at the last minute, prompting a short journey with explosive cargo accompanied by campus security.
