Dr. Richard Roberts' lecture on Feb. 5


Dr. Richard J. Roberts (right), Nobel Laureate for Medicine and a Research Director at New England Biolabs, Beverly, Massachusetts will give a lecture on February 5, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. in the AIT Conference Center Auditorium.

Dr. Richard J. Roberts, will speak on the topic 'Spreading Peace through Science and Commerce in Developing Countries.' His lecture is the fourth of the Nobel Laureates and Eminent Persons Lecture Series -- hosted at AIT -- by the International Peace Foundation in partnership with various organizations and institutions in Thailand.

Dr. Robert's current interest focuses on the identification of restriction enzyme and methylase genes within the GenBank database and the development of rapid methods to assay their function.

A Q&A; session will follow the lecture. Those wishing to talk more with Dr. Roberts or share their research efforts with him can join him at a reception in the AIT Conference Center Dining Hall after the lecture.
