Partnership with Saga University

On 17 April, AIT President Said Irandoust met with Dr. Sadakatsu Nishikawa, Vice President, Saga University, Japan; Mr. Isao Mitsutake, Chief of International Affairs Division; and Professor Kazunori Hokao who is a former AIT faculty, Saga University; who visited AIT for a MoU signing ceremony between AIT and Saga University, Japan. Under the partnership we will be entering into a dual degree program with SagaUniversity which will begin in August 2009 wherein students will spend at least two semesters at the host universities. Initially, the program will begin in SET and then expand to other schools at AIT. The program anticipates up to 3 students from each institution per year to participate in the double degree program.

The delegation from SagaUniversity also met with faculty members of SERD and SET. SagaUniversity is a national university, founded in 1949. In 2003, SU and Saga MedicalSchool were incorporated into a new institution, composed of five faculties, Faculty of Culture and Education, Economics, Medicine, Science & Engineering and Agriculture, along with their graduate schools.

School of Engineering and Technology played a key role for his initiation and contribution in establishing the cooperation with between AIT and Saga University.
