At AIT for the first time after assuming the position of Ambassador,.
H.E. Gilles Garachon remarked that he had served in Thailand from
1993-2003, and it was during his first tenure that he came to know
about AIT.
Welcoming the Ambassador, AIT President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai
expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Institute. “AIT has been
receiving generous support from France, and we are grateful for your
kind words about AIT,” Prof. Worsak remarked.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Stéphane Roy, Attaché for
Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation, Mr. Pierre Colliot,
Counsellor (Cultural Cooperation), and Ms. Alexandra Barnoux. The
Ambassador also presented a copy of a publication titled “La Résidence
de France à Bangkok” to Prof. Worsak.

Sponsored and Contracted Projects Unit (SCPU).
Dr. Mokbul, Prof. Babel, Dr. Vilas, Dr. Mongkol and Prof. Tripathi
highlighted the AIT projects which were being executed along with
various French partners. Later, the delegation visited a preview
exhibition organized at the AIT Conference Center by the project team
on “Reinventing The Toilet” led by Dr. Thammarat Koottatep of
Environmental Engineering and Management, SERD. The project, which is
funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is showcasing its
products emerging out of the project.
