On 24 April, AIT received the visit of a delegation from the University of Montpellier 2, France. The visitors included Professor Jacques Rivire, Vice Rector for international relations, Professor Claude Dupuis, Emeritus Professor and Coordinator for Franco-Thai relationships, and Professor Jacqueline Raymond, International Relations Officer at the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Montpellier. They met Professor Sudip K. Rakshit, Vice President for Research, Dr. Mithulananthan Nadarajah from the Energy field of study, Dr. Pritam K. Shrestha, Head ERCO and Mr. Jean- Philippe Thouard, AIT-French cooperation coordinator.
The University of Montpellier 2 has had collaborations both formal and informal with AIT over several decades in many fields such as energy, environmental engineering, food processing and technology, information and communication technologies. The discussions focused on ways to deepen those relations through joint research and academic activities. It was agreed that AIT and University of Montpellier 2 would further identify priorities areas of collaboration and through further interaction launch new activities. A memorandum of understanding will formalize these renewed cooperations.
