NGUYEN VAN HOAI
The Mahesh Varma Prize

Batch 103's Mahesh Varma Prize recipient is MR. NGUYEN VAN HOAI in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Construction Engineering and Infrastructure Management.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng.
degree, major in Civil Engineering, from The University of New South
Wales, Australia in 2000. Mr. Hoai was admitted to the AIT Master
degree program in the field of Construction Engineering and
Infrastructure Management in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng.
degree with a thesis entitled "Building an Innovation Management System
in a Construction Multi-Business Corporation". Prior to joining AIT,
Mr. Hoai worked with Bidding and Project Management Department 1 in
Vinaconex, Australia.
The Mahesh Varma Prize was established from funds provided by Prof.
Mahesh Varma, former AIT faculty member, for outstanding academic
performance among graduating Master's students in the Structural
Engineering and Construction Program.

PRAMOD KUMAR THAKUR
Chin Fung Kee Prize

Batch 103's Chin Fung Kee prize recipient is MR PRAMOD KUMAR THAKUR
in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering.

Mr. Thakur, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Civil Engineering, from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2001. Mr. Thakur
was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering in August 2003 and
completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled "Analysis of
Time-Dependent Response of Tunnels Considering Creep Effect". Prior to
joining AIT, Mr. Thakur worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Khwopa
Engineering College, Nepal.

The Chin Fung Kee Prize is awarded from funds contributed in 1990 by
the distinguished students of the late Professor Chin Fung Kee, former
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malaya, and past President of the
Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society.

BENNY SURYANTO
The Wen-Jei Yang Prize

Batch 103's Wen-Jei Yang price recipient is BENNY SURYANTO in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Structural Engineering.

Mr. Suryanto, an Indonesian citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree,
major in Civil Engineering, from Petra Christian University, Indonesia
in 2003. Mr. Suryanto was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in
the field of Structural Engineering in August 2003 and completed his
M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled "Adaptive Force-Based Pushover
Analysis in Reinforced Concrete Frames Using a Fiber Section
Model".
Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Suryanto worked as an Assistant Laboratory
Supervisor (Soil Mechanics Laboratory) at Petra Christian University,
Indonesia.

The Wen-Jei Yang Prize is awarded from funds contributed by
Professor Wen-Jei Yang, Professor Emeritus of the University of
Michigan, U.S.A.

ALI GUL QURESHI
The Barbara & John Hugh
Jones Prize

Batch 103's Barbara and John Hugh Jones Prize recipient is ALI GUL
QURESHI in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field
of Transportation Engineering.
Mr. Qureshi a Pakistani citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Civil Engineering, from Mehran University of Engineering and
Technology, Pakistan in 1999. Mr. Qureshi was admitted to the AIT
Master degree program in the field of Transportation Engineering in
August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled
"Analysis of the Effects of Cooperative Delivery System in Bangkok".
Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Qureshi worked as a Lecturer at Mehran
University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan.

The Barbara and John Hugh Jones Prize is awarded from funds provided
in 1994 by Professor John Hugh Jones, former Vice President for
Academic Affairs of the Asian Institute of Technology.

The Hodaka Prize

Batch 103's Hodaka Prize recipients are LE BAO TRUNG & MUHAMMAD
UZAIR in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field
of Water Engineering and Management.

Mr. Le Bao Trung, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree,
major in Hydrology and Environmental Engineering, from Hanoi Water
Resources University, Vietnam in 2003. Mr. Trung was admitted to the
AIT Master degree program in the field of Water Engineering and
Management in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis
entitled "Application of Soil and Water Analysis Tool (SWAT) for Water
Quality in Upper Cong Watershed, Vietnam".

Mr. Uzair, a Pakistani citizen, obtained his B.Sc.Eng. degree, major
in Civil Engineering, from University of Engineering & Technology,
Lahore, Pakistan in 2002. Mr. Uzair was admitted to the AIT Master
degree program in the field of Water Engineering and Management in
August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled
"Experimental Verification of GSTARS 3: A Semi-Two Dimensional Bed
Scour and Deposition Model in Open Channels". Prior to joining AIT, Mr.
Uzair worked as a Junior Trainee Engineer with NESPAK, Pakistan.

The Hodaka Prize is awarded from funds contributed in 1996 by
Professor Hiroyoshi Shi-igai, President of Japan River Association and
a member of the AIT Board of Trustees from 1980 to 2000.

Batch 103's AIT Alumni Association Prize recipients are NGUYEN VAN
HOAI and BENNY SURYANTO in recognition of most outstanding academic
performance in the School of Civil Engineering.
Mr. Le Bao Trung, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree,

Batch 103's Chintana BoonThamjinda Memorial Prize recipients are
BERNICE BUOT POLOHAN and NGUYEN THI HAI YEN recognition of outstanding
academic performance in the field of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources
Management.

Ms. Polohan, a Filipino citizen, obtained her B.Sc. degree, major in
Fisheries, from the University of the Philippines, Visayas in 1997. Ms.
Polohan was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management in August 2003 and
completed her M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled "Comparison of Fish
Communities Between Natural and Reforested Mangrove Habitats in Cogtong
Bay, Bohol, Philippines". Prior to joining AIT, Ms. Polohan worked as a
Research Technical Assistant at Southeast Asian Fisheries Development
Center, Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD), Philippines.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained her B.Sc.
degree, major in Aquaculture and Sea Products from the University of
Fishery, Vietnam in 1992. Ms. Yen was admitted to the AIT Master degree
program in the field of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management in
August 2003 and completed her M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled
"Using Reefcheck Monitoring Database to Develop the Coral Reef Index of
Biological Integrity". Prior to joining AIT, Ms. Yen worked as a
Community-Based Natural Resource Management Specialist under the Hon
Mun Marine Protected Area Project, Vietnam.
The Chintana Boonthamjinda Memorial Prize was established in May 1998,
with funds from her family, AIT alumni, faculty and staff in memory of
Mrs. Chintana, a long-serving, dedicated staff in Aquaculture and
Aquatic Resources Management.

SATIT KAROONBOONYANAN
The Y. Y. Kishida Prize

Batch 103's Y.Y. Kishida Prize recipient is SATIT KAROONBOONYANAN in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Agricultural Systems and Engineering.

Mr. Satit, a Thai citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Kasetsart University, Thailand in 1996. Mr. Satit was
admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of Agricultural
Systems and Engineering in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree
with a thesis entitled "Wear Characteristics of Thermally Sprayed
Rotary Tiller Blades".

The Y.Y. Kishida Prize was established in 1992 by Mr. Yoshisuke
Kishida, owner of the Shin Norinsha Co., Tokyo, Japan, in memory of his
son, Yoshiyuke.

NARESH ACHARYA
The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize

Batch 103's Yoshiro Takasaki recipient is NARESH ACHARYA in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Energy.

Mr. Acharya, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree major in
Electrical Engineering, from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1998. Mr.
Acharya was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Energy in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng degree with a thesis
entitled "Application of FACTS Devices for Congestion Management in the
Deregulated Electricity Market". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Acharya
worked as an Engineer at Nepal Electricity Authority, Kathmandu,
Nepal.

The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize was established from funds provided in
1999 by Mr. Yoshiro Takasaki, Chairman of Toyo Seikan Kaisha Ltd.,
Japan, member of the AIT Board of Trustees since 1994.

JENYUK LOHWACHARIN
The Robert B. Banks Prize

Batch 103's Robert B. Banks recipient is JENYUK LOHWACHARIN in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Environmental Engineering and Management.

Mr. Jenyuk, a Thai citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand in 2001. Mr.
Jenyuk was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Environmental Engineering and Management in August 2003, and completed
his M.Eng degree with a thesis entitled "Biological Sulfide Oxidation
in an Airlift Bioreactor". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Jenyuk worked as
an Assistant Design Review Engineer at AMS Consultants, Thailand.

The Robert B. Banks Prize named after Professor Robert Banks, one of
the Institute's former Presidents, was awarded for the first time in
1994 from funds generated by the continuing education and consultancy
activities in Geotechnical Engineering of Professor A.S.
Balasubramaniam and his colleagues.

NGUYEN THAI LOC
Albert Stevens Prize

Batch 103's Albert Stevens Prize recipient is NGUYEN THAI LOC in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Food
Engineering and Bioprocess Technology.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Loc, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Sc.
degree, major in Food Technology, from Cantho University, Vietnam in
1997. Mr. Loc was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the
field of Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology in August 2003 and
completed his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled "Monitoring Textural
Changes in Raw and Cooked Potatoes by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy".
Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Loc worked as a Technical Manager at American
Feed Company Limited, Vietnam.

The Albert Stevens Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1997 by
the children of Dr. Albert Stevens, in memory of their father, a
Pioneer of Industrial Microbiology in the Netherlands.

K. M. RABIUL KARIM
Alastair M. North Prize

Batch 103's Alastair M. North Prize recipient is K. M. RABIUL KARIM
in recognition of the outstanding academic performance in the field of
Gender and Development Studies.

Mr. Karim, a Bangladeshi citizen, obtained his M.S.S. degree, major
in Social Work from University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh in 1992. Mr.
Karim was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Gender and Development Studies in August 2003 and completed his M.Sc.
degree with a thesis entitled "Gender Perspectives in Irrigation Water
Resource Management Practices: A Study of a Village in Rajshahi
District, Bangladesh". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Karim worked as a
Assistant Professor at University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
The Alastair M. North Prize was established from funds contributed by
Professor Alastair M. North, former President of the Asian Institute of
Technology.

Tim Kendall Memorial Prize

Batch 103's Tim Kendall Memorial Prize recipient is SAGUN BISTA in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Natural
Resources Management.

Ms. Bista, a Nepali citizen, obtained her M.Sc. degree, major in
Botany from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1995. Ms. Bista was admitted
to the AIT Master degree program in the field of Natural Resources
Management in August 2003 and completed her M.Sc. degree with a thesis
entitled "Non-Timber Forest Product Utilization for Livelihood of
People: A Case from Baitadi District, Nepal". Prior to joining AIT, Ms.
Bista worked with the Canadian Center for International Studies and
Cooperation, Nepal.

The Tim Kendall Memorial Prize was established in 1981 from funds
provided by the United Kingdom Appeal, in memory of Mr. R.M. (Tim)
Kendall, member of the Board of Trustees from 1971 to 1981.

QIAN JIANJIANG
The Sukum Navapan Prize

Batch 103's Sukum Navapan Prize recipient is QIAN JIANJIANG in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Pulp
and Paper Technology.

Mr. Qian, a Chinese citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Food Engineering from the Southern Yangtze University, People's
Republic of China in 1997. Mr. Qian was admitted to the AIT Master
degree program in the field of Pulp and Paper Technology in August 2003
and completed his M.Eng degree with a thesis entitled "Application of
Ozone in Bleaching Mill-Cooked Eucalyptus Camaldulensis Kraft Pulp".
Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Qian worked as a Shift Manager at Advance
Agro PCL, Thailand.

The Sukum Navapan Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1993 by
Dr. Sukhum Navapan, Chairman of the Navatanee Group of Companies,
member of the AIT Board of Trustees since 1992.

LWIN LWIN AUNG
James A. Linen III Memorial Prize

Batch 103's James A. Linen III Memorial Prize recipient LWIN LWIN
AUNG in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Regional and Rural Development Planning.

Ms. Aung, a Myanmar citizen, obtained her B.Ag. degree, major in
Agriculture from Yezin Institute of Agriculture, Myanmar in 1993. Ms.
Aung was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Regional and Rural Development Planning in August 2003 and completed
her M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled "Effectiveness of the Farmer
Field School (FFS) Approach to Integrated Production and Pest
Management (IPPM) Technologies for the Promoting of Grain Legume
Production in Myanmar". Prior to joining AIT, Ms. Aung worked as a
Deputy Supervisor at Myanmar Agriculture Service, Myanmar.

The James A. Linen III Memorial Prize was established in 1988 in
memory of Mr. Jim Linen, a charter founding member and life member of
the Board of Trustees.

The John A. Hrones Prize

Batch 103's John A. Hrones Prize recipients are ARINITA MASKEY and
ARIVA SUGNDI PERMANA in recognition of the outstanding academic
performance in the field of Urban Environmental Management.

Ms. Maskey, a Nepali citizen, obtained her B.Sc. degree, major in
Human Ecology from University of the Philippines, Los Banos in 1999.
Ms. Maskey was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field
of Urban Environmental Management in August 2003 and completed her
M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled "Point of Use Drinking Water
Treatment Techniques: A Study on Potential and Constrains in Urban
Areas of Kathmandu, Nepal". Prior to joining AIT, Ms. Maskey worked as
an Assistant Program Officer at the Environment and Public Health
Organization, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Mr. Permana, a Indonesian citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major
in Civil Engineering from Diponegoro University, Semarang, Indonesia in
1988. Mr. Permana was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the
field of Urban Environmental Management in August 2003 and completed
his M.Sc. degree with a thesis entitled "Impacts of Existing Land Use
Pattern on Urban Physical Mobility and Air Quality in Bandung City,
Indonesia". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Permana worked with the Ministry
of Settlement and Regional Infrastructures, Indonesia.

The John A. Hrones Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1996 by
the AIT Foundation Inc., U.S.A., in honor of the late Dr. Hrones, who
served as a member of the AIT Board of Trustees from 1968 to 1998.

The Hisamatsu Prize

Batch 103's Hisamatsu Prize recipient is A. K. M. MAHTAB HOSSAIN in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Computer Science.

Mr. Hossain, a Bangladeshi citizen, obtained his B.Sc.Eng. degree,
major in Computer Science and Engineering, from Bangladesh University
of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2003. Mr. Hossain
was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of Computer
Science in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis
entitled "Fast Mobile IPv6 for Real-Time Streaming Media". Prior to
joining AIT, Mr. Hossain worked as Lecturer at Stamford University,
Bangladesh.

The Hisamatsu Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1982 by
Professor Yoshihiro Hisamatsu, formerly Dean of the Faculty of
Engineering at the University of Tokyo and now Advisor in Technology to
the Nisshin Steel Co., Ltd. of Japan.

Batch 103's James A. Linen III Memorial Prize recipients are PLOEN
KAEWRUEN and NATAPOPE SARAKHETTE in recognition of outstanding academic
performance in the field of Information Management.

Miss Ploen, a Thai citizen, obtained her B.Sc. degree, major in
Computer Science from University of Oklahoma, Norman, U.S.A. in 2000.
Miss Ploen was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field
of Information Management in August 2003 and completed her M.Sc. degree
with a thesis entitled "Anatomical Sketch Recognition". Prior to
joining AIT, Miss Ploen worked as an Administrator at Michelin Siam
Group, Thailand.

Mr. Natapope, a Thai citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Telecommunication Engineering from King Mongkut's Institute of
Technology, Ladkrabang, Thailand in 2001. Mr. Natapope was admitted to
the AIT Master degree program in the field of Information Management in
August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled
"Anatomical Sketch Segmentation".
The James A. Linen III Memorial Prize was established in 1988 in
memory of Mr. Jim Linen, a charter founding member and life member of
the Board of Trustees from 1967 to 1988.

Batch 103's Tim Kendall Memorial Prize recipient is NGUYEN HUU PHIEN
in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Industrial Engineering and Management.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Phien, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng.
degree, major in Mechanical Engineering, from Ho Chi Minh City
University of Technology, Vietnam in 1989. Mr. Nguyen was admitted to
the AIT Master degree program in the field of Industrial Engineering
and Management in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a
thesis entitled "Measures of Bullwhip the Effect in the Supply Chain
with Autoregressive Demand Processes". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Nguyen
worked with Cantho Power Plant, Vietnam.

The Tim Kendall Memorial Prize was established in 1981 from funds
provided by the United Kingdom AIT Appeal, in memory of Mr. R.M. (Tim)
Kendall, member of the Board of Trustee from 1971 to 1981.

The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize

Batch 103's Yoshiro Takasaki Prize recipient is NGUYEN HONG LONG in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Design
and Manufacturing Engineering.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Long, a Vietnamese citizen, obtained his B.Eng.
degree, major in Mining Mechanical Engineering, from Hanoi University
of Mining and Geology, Vietnam in 1996. Mr. Long was admitted to the
AIT Master degree program in the field of Design and Manufacturing
Engineering in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a
thesis entitled "An Expert System for Boiler Fans Maintenance Support
Using Vibration Analysis Technique". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Long
worked as a Senior Researcher at Hanoi National Research Institute of
Mechanical Engineering, Vietnam.

The Yoshiro Takasaki Prize was established from funds provided in

Batch 103's Werner von Siemens Excellence Award recipient is ISRAR
AHMAD KHAN SAEED in recognition of outstanding academic performance in
the field of Mechatronics.

Mr. Saeed, a Pakistani citizen, obtained his B.Sc.Eng. degree,
majoring in Mechanical Engineering, from University of Engineering and
Technology, Lahore, Pakistan in 1999.

Mr. Saeed was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field
of Mechatronics in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a
thesis entitled "Real-Time Dynamic Target Tracking and Servoing Using
Image Motion". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Saeed worked with Packages
Limited, Pakistan.

The Werner von Siemens Excellence Award is given from funds provided
in 1999 by the Siemens Company, Ltd., one of the major partners of the
Mechatronics interdisciplinary field of study of the Institute.

AMIT KUMAR SUHANE
The Infineon Prize

Batch 103's Infineon Prize recipient is AMIT KUMAR SUHANE in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Microelectronics.

Mr. Suhane, an Indian citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Electrical Engineering, from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, India
in 2002. Mr. Suhane was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in
the field of Microelectronics in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng.
degree with a thesis entitled "Head Noise Characterization of GMR and
TMR Sensor for Magnetic Recording". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Suhane
worked as an Assistant Engineers at Laxmi Engineering, India.

The Infineon Prize is given from funds provided in 2003 by the
Infineon Technologies AG, through its Asia Pacific Office in

The John A. Hrones Prize

Batch 103's John A. Hrones Prize recipients are MANOJ KARKEE and
RUIFENG YE in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the
field of Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems.

Mr. Karkee, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2002. Mr.
Karkeee was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems in August 2003 and
completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled "Fusion of
Stereo-Optical and Interferometic SAR DEMS". Prior to joining AIT, Mr.
Karkee worked as a Lecturer at Department of Electronics and Computer
Engineering, Institute of Engineering, Nepal.

Mr. Ye, a Chinese citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in
Measure Control Techniques & Instrument from University of Science
& Technology of China, People's Republic of China in 2001. Mr. Ye
was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of Remote
Sensing & Geographic Information Systems in August 2003 and
completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled "Automatic Detection
of Traffic Flow Parameters for ITS". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Ye
worked as an Assistant Engineer at Guangdong Academy of
Telecommunications Science & Technology, People's Republic of
China.

The John A. Hrones Prize is awarded from funds provided in 1996 by
AIT Foundation Inc., U.S.A., in honor of the late Dr. Hrones, who
served as a member of the AIT Board of Trustees from 1968 to 1998.

CHULAWEE
NEERATANAPHAN
The Sonera Prize

Batch 103's Sonera Prize recipient is CHULAWEE NEERATANAPHAN in
recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of
Telecommunications.

Ms. Chulawee, a Thai citizen, obtained her B.Eng. degree, major in
Electrical Engineering, from Khon Kaen University, Thailand in 1999.
Ms. Chulawee was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field
of Telecommunications in August 2003 and completed her M.Eng. degree
with a thesis entitled "Performance of MIMO MC-CDMA Uplink System with
V-BLAST and Multiuser Detection in Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading
Channel". Prior to joining AIT, Ms. Chulawee worked as a Production
Engineer at Sony Siam Industries Company Limited, Thailand.

The SONERA Prize is given from funds provided in 1991 by Telecom,
Finland.

MOHAMMAD UPAL MAHFUZ
The Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC) Prize

Batch 103's WPMC Prize in Telecommunications recipient is MOHAMMAD
UPAL MAHFUZ in recognition of outstanding academic performance in
Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications.

Mr. Mahfuz, a Bangladeshi citizen, obtained his B.Sc.Eng. degree,
major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh
University of Engineering & Technology, Dhaka in 2002. Mr. Mahfuz
was admitted to the AIT Master degree program in the field of
Telecommunications in August 2003 and completed his M.Eng. degree with
a thesis entitled "Performance Evaluation of an Indoor Ultra Wide Band
Channel for Different Pulse Shape Derivatives, Path Loss and Modulation
Schemes". Prior to joining AIT, Mr. Mahfuz worked as a Lecturer at
American International University, Bangladesh.

The WPMC Prize is given by Yokosuka Research Park R&D Committee
and Communications Research Laboratory of Japan, from the fund
established in 2001 in recognition of AIT's contributions to WPMC.
