French Support to AIT in 2003

French Support to AIT in 2003

On Friday February 21, AIT, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Agency for Development (AFD) finalized a new cooperation agreement on French support to the Institute in 2003 for a total amount of 1,319,700 Euros (about THB 60,000,000). This amount marks a very significant increase on previous years and indicates a new impulsion in the long-standing cooperation between France and AIT.

This new development places an emphasis in the support granted to
engineering disciplines, particularly in 'Environmental Engineering and
Energy' and in 'Information and Communication Technologies' through
scholarships and the support to collaborations with French engineering
schools and universities through joint research projects, and faculty and
students exchange programs.

This agreement also illustrates a consolidation of the support provided to
the School of Management through AIT's participation to the French regional program in management education 'Synergie.'

Ms. Béatrice Duchemin-Sichère, from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Prof. Patrick Quidel, Regional Counsellor for Cooperation and Culture, French Embassy in Thailand; Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President; Mr. Jean-Pierre Langlois, representing the French Agency for Development; Prof. Joël Broustail from the School of Management, Mr. Jean-Philippe Thouard, Assistant to the President and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Program Officer.

Prof. Jean-Lous Armand, AIT President and Mr. Jean-Louis Langlois, French Agency for Development exchange the signed agreement.
