To
promote an atmosphere of research, acknowledge and showcase outstanding
research conducted by its students, the Institute conducts an annual
theses competition. The 3rd AIT Masters Theses Competition was
conducted last 14 May 2008 among AIT masters students graduating this
month in seven categories, namely: civil engineering, development,
energy & environment, industrial systems engineering, information
& communications technologies, management, and resources.
Each presentation was judged according to its relevance, scientific
contribution, future potential for innovation, originality, as well as
the presentor’s general knowledge of the field and presentation
skills.

President Said Irandoust congratulates the winners in each competition
category, who were honored in the 109th graduation ceremony on 22 May
2008. He also extended his appreciation to all the students who
participated in the competition, to all faculty members who offered
support in one way or another (from identifying their student
presenters to suggesting potential competition judges), and to the Vice
President for Research who provided able overall guidance.
As
a spin off from the competition the judges asked six students to
contact them later with the possibility of employment, project work,
etc
