Interacting with AIT President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai on 25
April 2016, THPC’s General Manager, Robert R Allen Jr. complimented AIT
for the work done in the field of higher education in the region. “I
know that we do not have to worry about the student now that she is in
AIT,” Robert Allen said.
Prof. Worsak expressed his gratitude and commended THPC’s “spirit of
giving back to the society and contributing towards human resource
development.” The AIT President also offered to help THPC, and
expressed the hope that the partnership would go beyond offering
scholarships.
Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director Fundraising and Interim Head, Alumni
Affairs, mentioned that the scholarship proposal was initially
discussed between Mr. Robert Allen and Mr. Bob Kay of GMS Power,
following which Mr. Allen approached Prof Worsak. Since then, AIT’s
Fundraising Office has been actively engaged with finalizing the
partnership agreement and selecting an appropriate student for the
scholarship program. “The total scholarship amount, which includes a
full scholarship and fees for English language course, is THB
1,196,600,” Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe added.
Also present on the occasion was the scholarship recipient, Ms.
Laphongngern Thepphavong, who is now pursuing her Master’s in Energy
Business Management at AIT.
Scholarship recipient Mr. Laphongngern thanked THPC and AIT for
providing her the opportunity. “I consider my lucky that I am studying
in an international environment, where apart from studies, one gets to
learn about different cultures and languages,” she said.
Also participating in the cheque handover ceremony was Mr. Jyxiong
Juevaxaiki, Corporate Support Services Manager, THPC. AIT was
