The AIT Community participated on 8 March and enjoyed the variety of fun and awareness-raising activities at the AIT Fair & International Women's Day held in front of AIT Conference Center (AITCC).


Leading the AITians at the Walk for Gender Equality were AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand and his wife, Mrs. Candice Armand; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Gothom Arya, Registrar.

The event started in the morning with the Walk for Gender Equality around AIT campus, led by AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, and participated by AIT officials, faculty, staff, and students as well as the students from the AIT Child Center. During the walk, AIT President Jean-Louis Armand announced the formal establishment of the Gender Equality Committee to promote gender equality at AIT and futher advocate the role that AIT can play in the region in terms of gender equality. At the end of the walk, Prof. M. T. Tabucanon, AIT Provost handed over banners with gender awareness raising statements created by AIT students to the representatives of School Deans of AIT. Prizes for photo and poster competitions were also announced. The activities to celebrate the International Women's Day also included a panel group discussion on 'Valuing Ourselves'; a talk on 'Gender Equality and Women's Health' by Prof. Pensri Phijaisanit, M.D.; International Food Festival organized by AIT-International Women's Group to mark its 25 years of celebration and International Women's Day.
