Swedish Ambassador assumes chairmanship of the Executive Committee
H.E. Mr. Jonas Hafstrom (above), Ambassador of Sweden, assumes as new Chairman of the Executive Committee as appointed by Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of AIT Board of Trustees at a meeting held 2 March 2007 by AIT Executive Committee. H.E. Mr. Hafstrom succeeds H.E. Mr. Laurent Aublin, Ambassador of France.

The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mr. Denis Comeau, Mr. Maris Samaram. H.E. Mr. J.D.A. Wijewardena, Khunying Jada Wattanasiritham and Professor Said Irandoust, AIT President; Professor Vilas Wuwongse, Professor Sudip Rakshit, and Professor Peter Haddawy.
The meeting also marks as the last one for several long-serving members of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees as follows: H.E. Mr. J. D. A. Wijewardena (Ambassador of Sri Lanka), H.E. Mr. Denis Comeau (Ambassador of Canada), Ambassador Jan Axel Nordlander (Special Envoy for Human Rights, Department of International Law, Treaty Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sweden) and Professor Ashoka Chandra (Chairman, Engineering Council of India). Special plaques of appreciation and gratitude were given to them to acknowledge the valuable contributions they have made for the institute.
