WELCOME NEW FACULTY
The School of Advanced Technologies is pleased to welcome Dr. Lertsak Lakawat as a Visiting Faculty in our new Field of Study in Microelectronics, starting from the May 2000 term.
Dr. Lertsak received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1993. From 1994-1996, he worked at Seagate Technology, Bloomington, Minnesota, U.S.A., participating in the design and development of thin-film, magnetic recording heads for data storage on rigid disk files. In 1996, he joined Seagate Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, as a Senior Staff Engineer responsible for production yield improvement of thin-film heads, failure analysis, and technical consultant of rigid disk drive
technology. In 1997, he was appointed as Senior Manager at Read-Rite (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of magnetic recording heads located in Bangpa-In, Ayutthaya. His work included tester control improvement, test methodology development, failure analysis, yield improvement, electro-static discharge (ESD) prevention, and technical consultancy. Since 1999, he has worked as a technical consultant for Hard-Disk Drive and other electronics industry. His speciality encompasses design and analysis of magnetic recording heads, disc drive servo system, data decoding and detection, circuit design, and applied statistics for experiments and manufacturing.
His office is in the Chalerm Prakiat Building, Room IE-221, Tel. Ext. 5682.
