Thailand’s location and its quality of life are greater attractions to companies investing in the software sector here than government incentives such as tax benefits or training grants, a survey conducted by MBA students at AIT indicates.
The study was performed with help from the Board of Investment (BoI) and included three
interviews with companies and incorporates 27 responses to a total of 83 questionnaires
sent to foreign and local software companies in Thailand.
A summary of the research paper, entitled “The Relative Importance of Government
Incentives in the Development of the Software Sector in Thailand,” prepared by Mr.
Christoffer Larsson, an MBA alumnus (2006), and Dr. Sundar Venkatesh of AIT’s School of
Management was published in Bangkok Post’s Database on 21 March 2007.
