SET welcomes new faculty member
Computer Science and Information Management, School of Engineering and Technology, welcomes its newest faculty member, Dr. Matthew N. Dailey, who joined the school in April 2006 as an assistant professor.
Dr. Dailey earned his B.S. (1992) and M.S. (1995) in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, and his Ph.D. (2002) in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on machine learning and machine vision applications in robotics and information systems. At AIT he plans to teach Web application engineering, software engineering, and a special topics course in machine vision for robotics and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
Before joining AIT, Dr. Dailey spent two years as a lecturer at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University. His industrial experience includes research, development, and consultant positions in several large U.S. corporations and software startups, including Vision Robotics Corporation, Burning Glass Technologies, HNC Software (now part of Fair Isaac), and BNR (now part of Nortel).
When not teaching or hacking on robotic software systems, Dr. Dailey enjoys running, Thai boxing, and hanging out with his ancient Labrador retriever, Jessie.
