On 4 November 2008, AIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding as
well as Memorandum of Agreement with Hokkaido University (HU),
Japan, to promote educational and academic exchange and
cooperation. The MoA outlines the exchange program between the two
institutions. Former Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, and
Member of the Executive Committee, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Ota also
attended the signing ceremony to honour the new partnership between AIT
and Japanese partner.
HU plans to have another agreement with AIT under a dual-degree
program, initially for Transportation Engineering. At the moment,
Professor Takashi Nakatsuji from Hokkaido University
and Dr. Kunnawee Kanitpong, Transportation Engineering
Field of Study Coordinator from School of Engineering and
Technology, are working on the details of the collaboration as well as
curriculum for this program.
