August 1, 2002: The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) organized a Farewell Lunch Meeting to SERD student expected to graduate on August 16.
On the same occasion, Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost, presented this year's teaching awards to the following:
- Prof. Ram M. Shrestha of Energy Economics and Planning, Energy Program.
- Prof. Willem B. Stevens of Bioprocess Technology, Processing Technology Program.
- Dr. Gopal B. Thapa of Regional and Rural Development Planning, Rural Development, Gender and Resources Program.
- Dr. Ganesh Shivakoti of Agricultural Systems and Engineering, Agricultural & Aquatic Systems and Engineering Program.
- Dr. Roberto Clemente of Water Engineering and Management Program, School of Civil Engineering.
- Dr. Weerakorn Ongsakul of Electric Power System Management, Energy Program.
- Dr. Michael Zoebisch of Agricultural Systems and Engineering, Agricultural & Aquatic Systems and Engineering Program.
In addition Prof. Gothom Arya, Registrar, presented awards to the winners of the Essay Contest organized by SERD to celebrate the World Environment Day to the following:
First prize winner:
Mr. Domingo O. Ignacio Jr., of Telecommunications Program. Prof. Nurul Amin, Coordinator of Urban Environmental Management Field of Study, received the award on behalf of Mr. Ignacio Jr.
Appeciation winners:
Ms. Lydia Sanchez San Francisco of Environmental Technology and Management, UEEM Program
Nitin Senthir of Child Center, together with Dr. Ramamurthi K. Padam, Manager of Child Center.
In addition an Appreciation Prize was also given to Nitin Senthir for the poster submission.
