Technologies sign an MoU to establish cooperation
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was signed today (12 April) at a special ceremony held at AIT. H.E. Prof. Dr. Ali M. Abbasov (left, front row), MCIT Minister, and Prof. Said Irandoust (right, front row), AIT President, signed the MoU on behalf of MCIT and AIT respectively.
H.E. Mr. Cinar Aldemir (far right, back row), Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, together with members of the AIT administration and faculty also participated in the meeting and witnessed the signing ceremony. The Minister was accompanied by Professor Fikret Aliev, his advisor, Mr. Ayaz Bayramov, Head of the International Relations, and Mr. Bahram Atabeyli, from Chalmers, Sweden.
MCIT considers AIT as a vital resource and partner in fulfilling its capacity development needs and will include AIT in its future capacity development and scholarship programs. According to the partnership agreement there will be provision of scholarships and financial support to qualified professionals from Azerbaijan to pursue graduate studies and continuing education at AIT as well as in carrying out projects in the fields of Human Resources Development and Institutional Capacity Development (ICD) for Azerbaijan's sustainable development.
