August 5, 2002: Prof. Lu Tingxiu, Vice President of South China University of Technology (SCUT) and the delegations from SCUT visited AIT to learn how the Institute operates. The SCUT delegations accompanying with Prof. Tingxiu were Associate Professor Peng Shuolong, General Manager of Logistics Division; Mr. Hu Chenyang, Deputy Manager of Logistics Division; Mr. Zhen Cunhui, Deputy Manager of Logistics Division; Mr. Fu Haojian, Manager of House Property Sector; Ms. Zhang Qiuqin, Manager of Campus Service Sector; Mr. Zhao Hong, Manager of Electricity and Water Service Sector; Mr. Gan Lipi, Manager of Dietic Service Sector; Mr. Yin Guangming, Manager of Supply Chain Sector; Ms. He Guoxiong, Deputy Director of Finance Sector; and Mr. Liu Yingsi, Assistant to President.
SCUT was established in 1952 during the nationwide readjustment of all institutes of higher learning, and its founding is commemorated on November 17. The university was formed through the amalgamation of the technical faculties of Zhongshan University, Lingnan University, the South China Joint University and the Guangdong Industrial Training School, as well as the faculties and technical departments of several universities in Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces. The university is located in the eastern suburbs of Guangzhou , which is between the Baiyun Mountain and the Pearl River. The campus, with an area of over 200 hectares, is famous for its natural beauty of lakes.
