The Academic Advisory Panel Meeting
August 19, 2002: The Asian Institute of Technology held the first ever meeting of its Academic Advisory Panel at the Board Meeting Room, Admin. Building.
The Academic Advisory Board Panel was appointed by the AIT Board of Trustees to enhance and sustain the competitive edge of the Institute in academic activities. The Panel, comprising of no less than 12 but no more than 18 eminent academics serve for three years, with their mandate may be renewed once. The Panel meets twice a year, not necessarily in Thailand. The Panel members, Chairman and Vice-Chairman, were appointed by the AIT Board of Trustees. The Chairman or the Vice Chairman, in the absence of the Chairman, are invited to attend meetings of the Board and report directly to the Board on the findings and recommendations of the Academic Advisory Panel falling within its scope of expertise. The Chairman will prepare a synthesis report of the meeting which will be circulated to members for their comments. The final report would then be submitted by the chairman to the Board for its considerations.
