Government Officials from Myanmar View SCE's Hydraulic Model Study

On November 4, 2003, a high-ranking delegation of government officials from The Union of Myanmar led by H. E. U Myo Myint, Deputy Minister; Ministry of Electric Power visited AIT. The visit arranged by GMS Power Public Co., Ltd. in Thailand was in connection with the hydraulic model study being undertaken by the School of Civil Engineering for Ta Sang Hydropower Project.

During the visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Gothom Arya, Registrar; Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean, School of Civil Engineering; and Dr. Sutat Weesakul, Project Investigator in WEM Field of Study.

The delegation was briefed on AIT facts by Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President, and viewed a short multimedia presentation on AIT. The delegation also visited the General Model and Detailed Model of the Hydropower project after watching a full presentation of the results of the Hydraulic Model Study.

The Ta Sang Hydropower Project is the largest hydropower development project in the Mekong River and Than Lwin River basins.
