Newspaper features Mechatronics project
The Monday, 19 June 2006, Nation newspaper featured a flying robot conceived and built at AIT.
Developed by a team led by Dr. Manukid Parnichkun, an associate professor at the School of Engineering and Technology, the autonomous flying robot can help farmers fertilize crops and conduct aerial surveillance.
An onboard computer system in the helicopter-like robot communicates with a computer on the ground within a 3-kilometer distance. It pinpoints its own location using a global positioning system device.
