AIT launches aviation sector training program with Airports of Thailand (AOT)

Inaugurated by Senior Executive Vice President (Airport and Aviation
Standard) of AOT, Group Captain Kanputt Mungklusiri at the AOT Training
Center at the Don Mueang Airport on 4 September 2015, the program
witnessed participation from 25 AOT personnel. Thanking AIT, Group
Captain Mungklusiri described the program as “vital” since it deals
with the critical issues of airport and aviation standards. Established
in 2002, AOT currently manages Thailand's six international airports.

Course director, Mr. Voravate Chonlasin of AIT Extension stated that
the course covered the complexities of aviation ground operations
commonly referred to as ‘ground handling’. Our course included aspects
of regulatory framework, commercial contracts, service level agreements
and management systems, while focusing on safety, quality and security.
Three experts, Mr. Maurizio Anichini, Executive Director, TWIGA Aero,
Ms. Brenda Aremo, Managing Director, TWIGA Aero) and Mr. Horst Bohling,
aviation consultant, SPS Global, dealt with various aspects of aviation
operations management, regulatory authorities, airport operations and
ground service providers, Mr. Voravate added.

Also participating in the inaugural ceremony were Dr. Jonathan Shaw,
Executive Director, AIT Extension, and Dr.Duminda Jayaranjan, Director,
Training, Research and Development, SPS Global Corporation. The program
has been initiated through a partnership between SPS Global and AIT,
and it was jointly organized with external experts from TWIGA AERO
Aviation Training and Consulting.
