The contest aimed at promoting and developing high strength concrete technologies in construction as well as enhancing students' skills for their future professional activities.
The School of Civil Engineering, Asian Institute of Technology (SCE/AIT) team won the First place for both normal concrete and freestyle concrete categories, amid participants from 22 universities and 14 companies throughout Thailand. The SCE/AIT team obtained the highest average strength of 1,466.98 ksc. and the highest strength of a single specimen at 1,502.32 ksc. for normal concrete category. For freestyle concrete category, SCE/AIT team achieved the highest average strength of 1,470.38 ksc. and the highest strength of a single specimen at 1,510.93 ksc. From the results, the SCE/AIT team made new records for the contest. Moreover, they also received the second prize for prediction in normal concrete category with 3.95% deviation. Overall, SCE/AIT team acquired four first prizes and a second prize from total seven prizes in this contest.
