AIT and University of Wollongong (UOW) signs MOU
On 15 October 2004, AIT and the University of Wollongong (UOW) of Australia signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of academic cooperation. The scope of academic exchange and collaboration covered in this MoU includes academic visits; joint teaching programs; joint research activities and publications; exchange of academic materials and other information; and exchange of students
The MoU covering a five-year period was signed by Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost, on behalf of AIT President and Prof. G.R. Sutton, Vice Chancellor and Principal, UOW, at Room 260.

The MoU signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. David Rome, Vice Principal (Administration), UOW; Assoc. Prof. Muttucumaru Sivakumar (AIT Alumnus, EV'76), Faculty member of UOW; Ms. Pradthana Limkrailassiri, Project Officer (Higher Education), the Australian Embassy, Bangkok; Dr. M. Nazrul Islam, Acting Dean, SOM; Prof, Stephen Olu Ogunlana, CEIM FoS Coordinator, SCE; Dr. Oleg Shipin, SERD/EEM; Mr. Eng Ng Wan, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Benjamin A. Gargabite, Director of Admissions and Scholarships; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director of Promotion Activities; Mrs. Prapassorn Pokasoowan, Administrative Assistant to the Dean, SERD; and Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, Alumni Relations Officer, AIT.
An implementation plan to materialize the MoU was discussed and the follow up activities will take place shortly.
