Earthwatch funds research

Earthwatch's research program welcomes proposals from advanced scholars and professionals of any nationality. The organization is a diverse community of scientists, educators, students, businesspeople and explorers who work together to get the fullest benefit from scientific expeditions. In addition to 150 staff in the United States, England, Australia and Japan, Earthwatch supports more than 130 scientists each year and builds networks of hundreds of students and teachers. Earthwatch supports doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, or researchers with equivalent scholarship or commensurate life experience.

It supports field research that explores environmental impacts, biodiversity, human ecology and conservation management.

Proposal deadlines are as follows: If your project's field season starts in April-June 2008, proposal is due 15 October 2006; July-September 2008, proposal is due 15 January 2007; October-December 2008, proposal is due 15 April 2007.
