CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue: Cleaner Production in Asia and the Pacific Region
Several initiatives on the promotion of cleaner production have been undertaken worldwide during the last decade, demonstrating the trend of governments and industries towards the protection of the environment. Though there has been progress over the last decade, awareness on cleaner production has proceeded slowly. Limited accessibility to relevant information is a major barrier to the promotion of cleaner production technologies in Asia and the Pacific region. There is, therefore, a need to develop a mechanism to widely disseminate information on these technologies, research initiatives, and successful models in cleaner production.
Cleaner Production in Asia and the Pacific Region will serve as an information dissemination tool that governments, industries, researchers and the general public can use to their benefit. This special issue of the International Energy Journal, to be published by the Regional Energy Resources Information Center (RERIC) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand, will cover the latest achievements in cleaner production, information on specific cleaner production capacity and projects in individual countries, regional and national activities and research initiatives, and successful models in cleaner production.
Research institutes, individual researchers, business/industrial sectors, consultants, government and non-governmental organizations, and the academia are invited to submit their contributions related to any of the following themes:
- Innovative demonstration activities to promote Cleaner Production (case studies from one factory will not be suitable);
- Policy issues that promote Cleaner Production;
- Cleaner production education and training;
- Management aspects of Cleaner Production;
- Cleaner Production and environmental issues, such as, GHG emission mitigation, etc.;
- Networking to promote Cleaner Production;
- Recent technological/management developments in Cleaner Production promotion; and
- Any other relevant topics.
Authors interested to submit papers in any of the topics listed above are requested to contact the guest editors to obtain information regarding the preparation of manuscript or click the Guide for Authors more details. All papers submitted will be peer reviewed to ensure quality and relevance before acceptance for publication. We look forward to receiving your contributions to the International Energy Journal's first special issue on Cleaner Production in Asia and the Pacific Region which will be published in June 2003.
