Higher Education Commission, Pakistan considers AIT Charter
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has agreed to positively consider the ratification of the proposed AIT Charter, especially considering the modified contribution clause to be accompanied by an appropriate level of contribution. The basic concept of the establishment of an AIT Center at HEC was also agreed in principle.
This was discussed during the trip of Dr. Naveed Anwar to Pakistan, on behalf of AIT President, to meet with Professor Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, along with other senior HEC officials on 18 May 2007 to discuss the new AIT Charter and establishment of an AIT Center in Pakistan.
A detailed framework and business and financial plan for the establishment of an AIT Center in Pakistan will be further developed by a joint HEC-AIT team. The HEC team will be lead by Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Member, Operation & Planning, HEC.
