Vietnam EMBA Launched
Nineteen managers and business professionals from Vietnamese companies have joined the International Executive MBA (EMBA) program which opened at the AIT Center in Vietnam (AITCV) on 18 September. AIT's International EMBA is being offered in Vientam for the first time.
The program follows the same pattern as the existing EMBA progam at AIT. It is designed to help Vietnamese managers learn the latest management techniques and gain management experience from Asian countries that have a similar environment to Vietnam.
'Today managers have to cope with a business of cultural diversity and increasing competition as a consequence of the globalisation of business and rapid technological advances,' said Prof. Himangshu Paul, Dean of AIT's School of Management (SOM).
'Responding to the growing need in Vietnam for high quality management training, the AITCV and SOM have launched this Executive MBA program to improve the country's senior level managers.'
Prof. Paul added that although the course was designed primarily to satisfy the needs of private and public enterprises, it should in the future also benefit other organizations, including NGOs and multilateral projects in Vietnam.
The Executive MBA program, which opened at AIT in 1996, provides an integrated set of course modules in international business, management of technology and various management issues such as finance, marketing and human resource management. It also teaches business and management approaches which are practised globally, but relevant and appropriate for Vietnam. The program takes 20 months to complete and requires some 15-20 weeks of in-class course work, including six weeks at AIT, apart from in-company project work and case studies.
