Second Meeting of the Board:
The School of Management held the second meeting of the School Board on 24 May 2007. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Narayana N. R. Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor, Infosys, India and attended by external members Mr. John W. Hancock, Honorary Chairman and Senior Advisor, Baker and Mckenzie Co. Ltd. and Mr. Suraj Vaidya, President and CEO, VOITH Nepal. The internal members including Prof. Said Irandoust, AIT President, Prof.
Indra M. Pandey, Dean-SOM, Prof. Sivanappan Kumar, Dean-SERD, and Dr. Jonathan Shaw,
Director, AIT Extention were also present.
Three SOM faculty members namely Prof. Lalit M. Johri, Dr. Sundar Venkatesh and Prof.
Ilkka Kauranen were invited to participate in the board meeting and to make presentations
on SOM’s plan for accreditation, MBA curriculum restructuring, and a proposal for a new venture management program. The 21 December 2007 was agreed as the date for holding the next Board Meeting which is also the Institute’s Convocation Day.
After the meeting, the Board members also met and interacted with AIT Administration, SOM
faculty members, and DBA participants from Sri Lanka and Bangkok.
