51 graduate at informal inter-semester graduation

Other graduating students came from Sri Lanka (9), Nepal (6),
Bangladesh (3), Pakistan (2), People’s Republic of China (2), India
(1), and Spain (1). Five of the graduating students obtained their
Doctoral degrees, 35 got their Master’s and 11 students graduated with
a Bachelor’s degree. The informal graduation, which is organized during
the inter-semester period, followed the Institute’s formal graduation
that was held on 22 May 2015, where 508 students were awarded
degrees.

Speaking to the graduands, AIT President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai
remarked that the graduation is a “recognition of the efforts of the
students,” and termed the occasion a “starting point for further
achievements.” The graduands now join AIT’s illustrious alumni who
represent a who’s who of success. “Since 1959, AIT has promoted
technological change and sustainable development through higher
education and cutting edge research,” the AIT President said. Stating
that AIT is a global village for future leaders, Prof. Worsak added
that AIT students are very competitive and very constructive.

Prof. Rajendra Shrestha, Chair, Academic Senate; Prof. Voratas
Kachitvichyanukul, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET);
Prof. Chettiyappan Visvanathan, Dean, School of Environment, Resources
and Development (SERD); and Prof. Nazul Islam, Interim Dean, School of
Management; introduced the candidates for graduation.
