An Invitation to Post-graduate Researchers and Instructors

The Japanese Government-sponsored EDUCATION AND RESEARCH PROJECT FOR
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE GREATER MEKONG SUB-REGION
is inviting post-graduate researchers and instructors to join its six to 12-month program to
upgrade their research capabilities and enable them to respond to future development
needs in the GMS countries. The research support is Baht 16,000
per month per fellow. Monthly allowances of Baht 26,000 per month (gross of tax)
will be given to Master's degree holders and Baht 30,000 per month (gross of tax) for
Doctoral degree holders. Attractive benefits and allowances await the selected fellows.
They will be selected to work in fields where there are Japanese
faculty members.

  • Coastal Zone Engineering & Management
  • Construction Engineering & Management
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Infrastructure Planning & Management
  • Irrigation Engineering & Management
  • Structural Engineering
  • Transportation Engineering

School of Environment, Resources & Development:

  • Human Settlements Development
  • Urban Environmental Management
  • Water & Wastewater Engineering

School of Advanced Technologies:

  • Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems

2. Conditions
Master's and/or Doctoral graduates are eligible to apply to this program.
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:

For AIT graduates:

  • Master's degree with excellent thesis / research study grade
  • GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Doctoral degree
    (Applicants with professional experiences may not have to satisfy above requirements. The file will be reviewed individually by Japanese
    faculty members.)

For non-AIT graduates:

  • Individually reviewed by Japanese faculty members

3. Application procedures
Application packages can be obtained from the Human Resources Office or JICA-seconded faculty members. Submit all application materials to the Japanese Faculty Representative. The deadline for the submission of application is the last day of each month.

4. Application materials
Applicants are requested to submit the following documents. Application lacking any one of these documents will not be considered.

For applicants with Doctoral degree:

  • An application form
  • A research proposal form
  • An official certificate (or Diploma) of Doctoral degree
  • A letter of recommendation from the potential supervisor (must be JICA-seconded faculty member)

For applicants with Master's degree:

  • An application form
  • A research proposal form
  • An official certificate (or Diploma) of Master's degree
  • An official transcript of post graduate coursework
  • A letter of recommendation from the potential supervisor (must be JICA-seconded faculty member)
