French Minister visits AIT
On 21 February 2004, the Institute received the visit of H.E. Mr. Pierre-Andre Wiltzer, the French Minister delegate for Cooperation and Francophony, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Laurent Aublin, French Ambassador to Thailand and a high-ranking delegation from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During a meeting, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, President of AIT, presented AIT and the activities of the French cooperation in the Institute, in presence of Prof. Joel Broustail, regional expert in charge of the bilingual program at SOM, Dr. Roland Amoussou-Guenou, regional expert in law, Mr. Michel Chretien, regional expert in urbanism, Mr. Jean-Philippe Thouard, in charge of relations with the French cooperation, Ms. Ginette Chamart, coordinator of the French resource center, Language center and Dr. Frederic Borne, assistant professor, STAR

The Minister later visited the Energy Park, which was presented to him by Dr. Sivanappan Kumar, Energy/SERD and Prof. Chettiyappan Visvanathan, EEM/SERD, both in charge of the French cooperation program in energy and environmental engineering.

During a cocktail held in the honor of the Minister, Mr. Wiltzer had the opportunity to meet students involved in the various programs of the French cooperation at AIT as well as its key actors. During his allocution to the assembly, Mr. Wiltzer highlighted the fruitful collaboration between the French cooperation and the Institute of the years and emphasized the similarities of the objectives of both parties and the importance to address them at a regional level.
At the occasion of his visit, the Minister presented the Institute with the Silver Medal of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, honoring its contribution to the development of the region.
