Visiting AIT
On February 17, 2004 a delegation from Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation (Fulbright) visited AIT.
The delegation was comprised of Ms. Pornthip Kanchananiyot (above right) and Ms. Siriporn Sornsiri (below, second from right), Executive Director and Program Officer, respectively, of Thailand-U.S. Educational (a.k.a. Fulbright) Foundation
During the visit the delegation met with Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. H. N. Phien, Dean SAT; Prof. Ioan. D. Marinescu, Fulbright Visiting Professor, Microelectronics FoS, SAT and Ms. Kanya Worawichawong, Corporate Relations Coordinator.
The occasion was also for Ms. Pornthip Kanchananiyot's courtesy call on the President for having been recently appointed as the new Executive Director of Fulbright. Foundation.
On the same day, Prof. Touvia Miloh (above, second from right), Dean of Engineering, Tel-Aviv University, Israel; and Mr. Shlomi Kofman (above right), First Secretary, Embassy of Israel visited AIT. During their visits they met with Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean SCE; Prof. Tawatchai Tingsanchali, WEM FoS Faculty, SCE; and Prof. Elisha Zeev Tatsa, AIT faculty from Israel. They were first to come ahead of Prof. Marshall Tulin (below left), Presidential Chair Professor, University of California (Berkeley) and Member, National Academy of Engineering, USA, who later visited AIT on February 19.
The visit was aimed at having exploratory discussions for a possible collaboration on student and faculty exchange between AIT and universities in Israel.
Meanwhile on that day, a delegation from National Coordinating Committee for Environment (NCCE), DPR Korea had a visit to AIT. The delegation was comprised of Dr. Ri Hung Sik (above, third from left), Secretary General; Mr. Kim Mun Dok (above, second from left), Senior Officer and Dr. Kim Yun Hum (below, second from left), Environmental Liaison Officer.
During the visit they met with Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Athapol Noomhorm, FE&BPT; FoS Coordinator; Dr. Ajit P. Annachhatre, EEM FoS Coordinator and Dr. Weerakorn Ongsakul, Energy FoS Coordinator.
The visit is part of the delegation's itinerary to visit UNEP ROAP, and RRC.AP office in Bangkok.
On February 19, 2004, Ms. Marie des Neiges Grossas (left), Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP), World Bank Institute visited AIT.
During the visit she met with Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, President; Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Prof. Vilas Salokhe, ASE FoS Coordinator; Prof. A.T.M. Nurul Amin, UEM FoS Coordinator; Prof. Athapol Noomhorm, FE & BPT FoS Coordinator; Dr. Ajit Annachhatre, EEM FoS Coordinator; Dr. Jayant K. Routray, RRDP FoS Coordinator; Dr. Amrit Bart, AARM FoS Coordinator; Dr. Edward Webb, NRM FoS Coordinator; Dr. Bernadette Resurreccion, GenDev FoS Coordinator and Mr. Benjamin Gargabite, Admissions and Scholarships Director. Ms. Grossas took the opportunity to meet with the 20 JJ/WBGSP scholars currently studying at AIT. In the evening, she also hosted a gathering of JJ/WBGSP scholars at AITCC where AIT administration, faculty and advisors of JJ/WBGSP were also invited.
