AIT gains major Swedish grant for urban planning research

AIT was recently awarded a planning grant of 1.5 million Swedish kronors by the Swedish
International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to prepare a proposal on urban
research. AIT intends to set-up a regional network to develop a multidisciplinary and
problem-focused approach on urban research. SIDA will support AIT by providing a
reference group of Swedish experts in urban development research to assist during the
preparation phase. AIT officials will meet with their counterpart group members in
Stockholm, Sweden, at the beginning of the preparation phase to discuss further plans for
the initiative.
