The following points were discussed and agreed at the meeting:
- Marketing of 3RKH: 3RKH will promote its knowledge packages by
putting the financial benefits and health awareness in its forefront.
The team will also look into inviting Japanese experts (for instance,
JICA) to enrich its resources and to assist on 3R issues. - Private sector participation/ involvement in 3RKH: The meeting
discussed how 3RKH could involve the private sector. One suggestion
was to invite private companies (such as Wongpanit) to set-up a small
demonstration plant on waste collection or recycling at AIT to
showcase their novel approach. The UNEP team will take the lead from
this point forward, in contacting the private sector. - Second Phase Proposal: The team will prepare a networking plan
having countries, organizations, and the private sector involved. It
will prepare a second phase proposal with a budget plan. - Upcoming Environmental Health Forum, (Bangkok, 8-9 August, 2007):
It was suggested that 3RKH be proposed as the Secretariat for the
thematic working group - Waste Management.
