Notice for non-Thai AIT employees who are parents of newborns

Please be informed that any non-Thai baby born in Thailand does not need a 'Permit of Stay' stamp on his/her passport for staying in Thailand, until his/her first exit from Thailand. On his/her first exit from Thailand, the parents must ensure that he/she gets a
Non-Immigrant visa from the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate in his/her home country before coming back to Thailand. Therefore, before the baby leaves Thailand, please contact AIT's Government Relations Unit (GRU) for processing the Thai visa approval letter from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please make sure that enough time is
allotted for processing the visa. After re-entering Thailand, GRU will assist in processing the 'Permit of Stay' for the child which will have to be renewed in the same way as the parents. For further information, please contact GRU at tel. ext. 5022
