Prof. Ram M. Shrestha Reappointed Energy Associate Editor

In recognition of his 'exceptional expertise', Professor Ram M. Shrestha (SERD-Energy), who is completing a three-year term as Associate Editor of Energy - the International Journal, has been invited by Professor Noam Lior, the Editor-in-Chief of Energy to continue for a second three-year term. This re-appointment is quite exceptional itself for Elsevier's premier journal in the field of energy, which in 2006 will be running its 31st volume.

Energy is a multi-disciplinary focus for activities relating to the development, assessment and management of energy-related programs. It solicits contributions from among the following areas: input-output analyses relating to energy-consuming systems, careful resource or reserve assessments of all types, energy-conservation measures and their implementations, incisive evaluation of energy-systems managements, environmental-impact assessments, and policy alternatives stressing economic implications.

Professor Shrestha, who joined AIT as a research engineer on 15 January 1986, is now a leading expert in the energy field. His recent research involvements are in the areas of greenhouse gas mitigation and energy efficiency improvements, acid rain and emission reduction in Asia, the perspective energy planning of Nepal, performance of electric utilities, independent power producers and electricity pricing, and integrated resource planning and environmental implications.
