Transportation Engineering welcomes Visiting faculty member

The Transportation Engineering field of study at the School of Engineering and Technology welcomes Dr. Pichai Taneerananon (right) as Visiting Associate Professor for a period of one year beginning 16 July 2007. He has been granted permission from the Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.

Dr. Pichai completed his doctoral studies in Civil Engineering from University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 1981 with funding support through a UNSW Postgraduate Scholarship. In 1976, he obtained his Master of Engineering in Highway and Transportation Engineering from the same University which supported his study through a UNSW Postgraduate Fellowship in Highway Engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with 2nd class honours division A from the University of Western Australia in 1972 with the support of an Australian government's Columbo Plan Scholarship.

During his stay at TRE/SET, Dr. Pichai will, among other things, teach 2 courses: CE73.11 'Transportation Systems' and CE73.21 'Traffic Engineering'; contribute as chairperson and/or committee member in supervising master and doctoral students of TRE; and support Thailand Accident Research Center (TARC) projects as a special expert on traffic safety.
