AIT President participates at SUT-AUAP Conference in Thailand
AIT President Said Irandoust on 25 July 2007 took part in the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT)-Association of Universities in Asia Pacific (AUAP) conference on 'University-Industry-Government Tripartite Cooperation in Higher Education in Asia and the Pacific Region'. The conference was held in celebration of SUT's 17th founding anniversary of its campus located in Nakhon Ratchasima, 250-kms northeast of Bangkok.
During the conference, the AIT President had an opportunity to meet with H.E. Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an, Minister of Education of Thailand, who is also the Founding President of AUAP, as well as interact with many university representatives and administrators. Former AIT Vice President, Professor Ricardo Pama, also took part in the event, and he kindly offered to link AIT to a senior alumnus from the Philippines who expressed interest in donating land to the Institute which could be use for future AIT-related activities.
President Irandoust also met with Professor Wang Guo-An, Vice Rector of Zhejiang Gongshang University, China, who was keen on exploring areas for collaboration, and visited AIT on 2 August 2007 to make a presentation on the Chinese Educational System and Education Markets.
