Promotions to Professorial Rank
I am pleased to announce that the Executive Committee at its 19 April 2004 meeting endorsed the promotion to the rank of Professor of Dr Ajit Annachhatre, SERD/Environmental Engineering & Management Field of Study, and of Dr Kanchana Kanchanasut, SAT/Computer Science Field of Study.
Professor Annachhatre (right) has been associated with the Institute since 1995. His major areas of specialization are environmental engineering, water quality management, wastewater treatment and management, environmental biotechnology, environmental impact assessment, and environmental management and ethics.
Professor Kanchana (left) has been associated with the Institute since 1984. Her current research interests are in Information and communication technologies for rural access, distance education technologies and infrastructures, networking and distributed computing, algorithms, and programming languages, She is the Director of the Distributed Education Center (DEC) and of the Internet Education and Research Laboratory (IntERLab).
Professor Annachhatre's and Professor Kanchana's promotions recognize their valuable contributions to our Institute and their professions, and we offer them our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.
