President opens management conference
AIT President Said Irandoust (above) gave the opening address at the 12th Asia Pacific Management Conference (APMC-XII), held at AIT from 17 to 19 November 2006. The conference was organized by the School of Management, in collaboration with the National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan.
More than 150 delegates from more than 22 countries, with 180 research paper submissions, participated in the conference, which was chaired by Prof. Nazrul Islam. Prof. Nawaz Sharif, former AIT vice president for academic affairs, delivered the keynote address.
The theme of the conference was 'Managing Competitiveness in Knowledge Economy.' The conference provided a forum for academics and professionals to share experiences and knowledge for managing competitiveness in the knowledge economy.
After the opening and keynote speech, six parallel technical sessions continued for two days.
