Visiting AIT
A delegation from the ASEAN-EC Management Center (AEMC) comprising of Abd. Ghani Pg. Hj. Metusin, Director and Dr. Joseph Cheok Van Seng, Office Manager visited AIT on 30 June 2004.
During the visit, they met Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Provost; Dr. Nazrul Islam, SOM Acting Dean; Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director of Promotion Activities, and Ms. M. A. Nadeera Rangika, Program Associate at the Office of the President. The meeting focused on potential areas of cooperation and strengthening network relations. Also discussed was the forthcoming ASEAN-EC International HRD Convention and Exhibition (Confab) 2004 with the theme, HR - Challenges and Opportunities in the New Economy. The event will be held at the International Convention Center in Brunei Darussalam from 20 - 22 September, 2004.
Abd. Ghani Pg. Hj. Metusin, further said that the international speakers at the confab will provide a global perspective to the development of the people for progress in the private and public sectors organizations to face the challenges and opportunities in the new economy. He also encouraged and emphasized that it would be timely and beneficial for AIT to arrange a mission visit to Brunei Darussalam which would coincide with the above-mentioned mega event.

On 02 July 2004, Mr. Shiladitya Chatterjee, Principal Poverty Reduction Specialist of the Regional and Sustainable Development Department, Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines visited AIT. During the visit he met with Prof. Mario Tabucanon, Provost and the ADB-AIT Networking Team to discuss matters concerning future activities of the ADB-AIT Network.
