Delegation looks at intellectual property collaboration
On 21 February 2006, a delegation from the EC ASEAN Intellectual Property Rights Cooperation Program (ECAP II) visited AIT to discuss collaboration on an intellectual property program including the Regional Intellectual Property Management Center Project.
On this occasion, Mr. Niclas Morey, ECAP II director, and Mr. Stéphane Passeri, ECAP II administrator, met Prof. Sudip K. Rakshit, vice president for research, Ms. Izel Ann Mojado Dante, head of Research & Education Support, Dr. Sahdev Singh, program director for AIT Extension, Dr. Barbara Igel, associate professor at the School of Management and Dr. Roland Amoussou-Guenou, visiting lecturer at the School of Management.
During the meeting, the ECAP II delegations expressed their interest to work closely with AIT on intellectual property regional projects in Asia and to help AIT build international capacity. The Regional Intellectual Property Management Center was acknowledged as important, useful and timely. Support and technical assistance will be provided to AIT as much as possible.
This meeting is the first of its kind and can be considered successful. There was a mutual agreement to launch a two-week course on Intellectual Property Management in July 2006.
