JAXA Director commends AIT graduates
Newly appointed Director of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Bangkok, Mr. Masanobu Tsuji has commended AIT graduates, stating that the Asian Institute of Technology provides good quality education and that its graduates are highly capable. Mr. Tsuji made his remarks during a visit to AIT on 5 May 2015.
“I interacted with various scientists while working on the deployment
of satellites in ASEAN, and to my surprise all of them were AIT
graduates,” Ms. Tsuji said. “AIT provides very good education and its
graduates are highly capable,” he said during his interaction with AIT
President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai. He also expressed happiness at
the partnership of JAXA with AIT, reiterating that this cooperation was
extremely beneficial to the Asia-Pacific region.President Worsak thanked JAXA for its support and long-standing
partnership with AIT, adding that AIT provides a platform for JAXA to
reach out to the entire region. Prof. Worsak informed the JAXA Director
that AIT alumni have reached top positions, adding that the Premier of
Taiwan, Mao Chi-kuo is also an AIT alumnus.

Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, Vice President for Resource Development; Dr.
Shinichi Nakamura, seconded faculty from JAXA to AIT; Dr. Gabrielle
Groves, Head, External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); and
Ms. Sumana Shrestha, Program Officer, ERCO also participated in the
deliberations.
