AIT President Said Irandoust on 29 October 2007 took part in the “Partners Consultation Meeting on Strategic Proposal Development for Extension of the Southeast Asia-Urban Environmental Management Applications Project (SEA-UEMA)”. The meeting was attended by 31 of AIT's key partner representatives and also the Project Officer from the Canadian Embassy. The SEA-UEMA Project is one of AIT's flagship development projects and received contributions from CIDA and all of AIT's other partners' organizations to progress the work of the project. AIT proposed a two-year extension of the project (2008-2010), and during the meeting, President Irandoust reaffirmed AIT’s strong commitment to the SEA-UEMA Project. He mentioned that it has strengthened AIT's role as a provider of needed expertise, specifically research and development initiatives that directly address problems in the domain of sustainable environmental development. Partners expressed appreciation for the meeting, and for providing for very useful and robust suggestions which have been incorporated and translated into a final draft.
The AIT Project Management Team led by Dr. Edsel E. Sajor, Project, Director; Dr. Muhammad Abu Yusuf, Project Manager; former Project Directors Professor A.T.M. Nurul Amin and Dr. Ranjit Perera, and other colleagues engaged in the project actively participated and contributed to the inclusive and participatory manner in which the proposal has been prepared.
