ESRC / DFID Joint Research Funding Scheme (Second Call)

The Department for International Development (DFID) and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) launched the joint DFID-ESRC scheme (2nd Call).

This scheme aims to fund scientific research on issues relating to economic development and quality of life in less developed countries with the potential for impact on policy and practice for poverty reduction. Applications (to ESRC) are invited from researchers based in recognised higher education institutions, research organizations or organizations with a credible research capacity in both the UK and worldwide.

The full call specification document can be found on the ESRC website:
http://www.esrcsocietytoday.ac.uk/ESRCInfoCentre/opportunities/current_funding_opportunities/dfid.aspx?ComponentId=8059&SourcePageId;=5964 and then click Specification for second call (PDF) for details.

Deadline for applications: 4pm on 13 July 2006.

A group of faculty and staff are advised to work together to meet this deadline - as has been done in the recently submitted USAID project.
