Former AIT board member Dr. Sippanondha Ketudat passes away

The AIT community conveys deepest condolences on the passing away of Dr. Sippanondha Ketudat, a former member of the AIT Board of Trustees, on 16 July 2006.

Dr. Sippanondha was a board member from 1976 to 1982 and played a major role in shaping education reform in Thailand, as well as in the formulation of the mechanism for providing research grants. Dr. Sippanondha, trained as a nuclear physicist, had a wide career ranging from services in academia, government, politics, industry and business.
The religious rites were conducted and are being conducted according to the following schedule:

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn poured the Royal Bathing Waters at a bathing ceremony held on 17 July 2006 at The Marble Temple (Wat Benjamabophit Sala Roi Pi). The ceremony is a Buddhist Thai tradition joined by the family, friends, and relatives.

There will be prayers for seven days following which the body will be kept for a cremation ceremony to be held in about 100 days.

As the rites are Royal-sponsored, AIT cannot host any of the religious rites. Please also be informed that the sending of wreaths is discouraged.

The entire AIT community extends heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Khun Emilie Ketudat, their children: Tonytip, Mariena and Tharisa, and the rest of Dr. Sippanondha's family during this difficult time of grief.
